Revive and Inhale.

In light of the previous post, once again I would like to make a statement concerning my noble professors. That is to say, in the course of their work they seem to forget about the core element of the organisation they are working for - the students. Ever, have I heard that they , the uni, wants to be popular in the grooves of the academe as well as on the world wide arena and wishes to score high in the uni rankings. If it is really their solemn desire and wish to gain recognition among world universities, they should have pay a closer look and attention to their students because it it them who might have likely be the promotors of the university in the future. If the professors are as bright as they claim to be, then they should not overlook the fact that they cannot stop in the course of learning. Thus, they should , because they can, learn from the students as well, since it is to some extend physically unfeasible to be na biezaco with all the new phrases, wordies and so on.They should also apply some innovative strategies like being more student -friendly and -oriented, meaning, it is recommended, they be open for new, fresh suggestions and do not stay confined to the knowledge and concepts acquired some 30 years ago. Time which for the contemporary world seems nothing short of the stone age. Then, it doesn't come as a surprise that my department is undersubsidized. Perhaps the issue they try to pretend is non existent, is that of a they-do-not-understand-us sort -here 'they' referring to the outside, mainly business world. With all the knowledge they possess, they look like lost hermits [in the most negative and worst of senses] in the modern, fast-paced world. If they don't change, or bend, at least, their current way of practice, their achievements will remain self-appreciative, limited to the walls of the university and, I am sorry to say that but, useless too. It is not a yesterday's story that I hear, some departments have problems with applicability of their discoveries. it's funny how they, the state university scrutinizes the private ones for being too loose, not demanding and strict in their way of conduct. However, what concerns and distinguishes the latter from the former is really a great and bold innovative vision, practicality and student-importance-awareness. On top of everything, they should appreciate the resource they have at hand - their students- and not be affraid of being accussed of dumbing themselves down if they draw from them or admit they do not boast any knowledge in certain fieldies. Science for the sake of science has never done any good for anybody, neither has it scored any recognition amongs a group wider than a tight [as my ass] team of specialists.

'em Clunkerz!

Well, they didn't come to ponder profound thoughts there, didn't they? All they wanted was to have fun. Nevertheless, it was me who wanted to suck some deepth out of them, just to see what they might potentially reveal in such environs. It was other group of 'them' whose primary aim was to suck out the best out of me, my passion, my very prive thoughts, together with everything which set me in the extraodrinary mood; the subjects they raised so distant from my interests whatsoever. They have done their best to discourage me from and put me off from the gist of my life; cut off the lifeblood sustaining my life. Anything what was dear to me has almost completely. vanished. Why should I conform to their premises, then? I do not have to. I will leave. Probably sooner than they might expect. Much as for the outside viewer it might not seem to as being so fucked up, it is so indeed. They made me alsmot forget what I was; all the resources I have been drawing from have immersed in oblivion. Word to that effect you can see when my last blog update was... In the meantime, they have failed to see that the mere knowledge of language and the rest which they are dealing with is not enough, nothing short of useless. Then, I have been always interested in its applicability, its use [hence my penchant for pragmatics and my attendance to the course], thinking where and how can one use it. Sadly, all these I-think-I'm-influential professors of old generation specialize in sacking students out. Not that this would render them jobless, but. Plus, they miss to see that having such an approach to teaching, they contribute to generating a mass of future unemployed. Needless to say, as they will have not mind that in their stuck up heads anyway, is that they represent the old variety of English, trying to force feed us with it. Not only is it the bad-old-sort but it is also taking away all the fun the language contains.

And the Time Goes Slowly...

Signed in, using my super-secret email address, no one knows, accompanied with the rain. During a particularily savory brekky, I watched a discussion on politics - oriented matters on the German tv. A foreigner, former Middle East inhabitant and present pround German resettler spoke about his little more than meagre condition of living. I shut the tivo down and went upstairs to enjoy the last day of my stay. I leaned on the window sill and it was only then when I realized the soothing, almost hypnotize - like dripping of the raindrops [reindropa, -um] dribbling on the roof surface. The entire world was soaked through eith rain. My enitre world, that is. My thoughts drove back to that German programme - one facial mimic of a guy told me, it's not only their [German] system which needs to be changed. The system which worked impeccably and flawlessly for every native German citizen throughout many a generation, is now in a greater than ever need of reformation. It's not only that, as I urge. In face of the rapidly growing multicultiralism, multiethnicism in Germany, the reformators need to go as deep as to the subtle and invisible for many, yet so crucial, level/ stratum of culture. Then, it is not only the Germs who will now be required to abide by the law and all those new to the ruling may not be as obedient, meticulous and law-solicitous as the proverbial and cherished iconic German rechtschaffener und gesetzestreuer Bürger.
